Tories: Remove The Plank From Your Eyes

While playing RSS catch up tonight after a busy midweek, yesterday's offering from His Grace stands out as possibly the best lead-in to any blog article I've read in the past few months.

They were elected as New Labour, and they promised to govern as New Labour.

And yet they have done exactly what Old Labour have always done: bankrupted the country.

And the man responsible for a decade of economic inefficiency and fiscal incompetence as Chancellor of the Exchequer is now Her Majesty’s First Lord of the Treasury.

He was never elected as Prime Minister: he is distrusted by the majority of the nation, criticised by his own Chancellor, loathed by his own ministers and despised by many of his backbenchers.

This Labour Government took us to war on a false premise; has replaced Cabinet government with a politburo; diminished democracy; marginalised Parliament; taken in three million immigrants; saddled us with recession and soaring unemployment; given us the highest youth unemployment in history; eroded our liberties; abolished the right to trial by jury; raped the Constitution; politicised the civil service; sold off our gold reserves at the bottom of the market; raided our pensions; subjected us to the Lisbon Treaty; relegated us from 7th to 24th in international maths and literacy rankings; increased pensioner poverty; increased inequality; caused fascists to be elected to Brussels; massively increased our tax burden; imposed an incredible 5000 new laws; created an authoritarian state and thoroughly debased our politics.

After 13 long years of extravagant spending, sinister social engineering, welfare expansion, uncontrolled immigration, endless fiddling with the electoral system, unparalleled electoral fraud, grotesque state encroachment into private lives and personal affairs and now a devalued currency, we have what must be the most stunningly incompetent government in the history of the United Kingdom (and God knows there are quite a few to choose from), and the most ideologically illiberal, oppressive and anti-Christian in centuries.

You would think the Conservative Party would be on course for an electoral landslide.
That they are not is terrifying when the facts are presented as starkly as this, isn't it?

So many targets lined up on the electoral wall yet, like a hooch-sodden wild west gunslinger, the Tories have managed to miss, or not notice the existence of, just about all of them.

it is exceptionally hard to understand why The Tories seem so pathetic but they are fighting a tax payer funded media spin machine of gigantic size and influence.

I believe the poor performance of the tories in highlighting labours mistakes is due to the fact that Cam and co stand shoulder to shoulder with labour on so much. I say this as someone who hates labour, but equally thinks cameron is a spineless blairite.

DP,

Echo BB.

As an MP Cameron is good - speak from personal experience on two 'spats' with county and district councils. As a leader - 0 out of 10; as a Conservative - 0 out of 10; as a Eurosceptic - 0 out of 10

Cameron has made it quite clear
his intentions of continuing the
NuLabour policy of mass destruction
of our clubs,our pubs,our social
venues,our bingo halls,our cafes,
our lodges and anywhere ordinary people meet..He panders to noisy
cliques and well funded quangos not
to mention Pseudo health professionals. He had a chance in
our northern marginals,not now,
we dont want Brown Mk2.He has a
few weeks to stand up and say what has to be said, not mumble dictats
from shadowy masters.

Trouble is, what choice do we have?
There are only 2 parties that could get in at the general.
I think the best option is to vote for the lesser of 2 evils (Conservatibve), get them into government and then start working on someone better (one of the smaller parties) at the locals.

I would much rather have the conservatives in power than another 4-5 years of Labour. We will turn ito a communist country if that happens.

"...caused fascists to be elected to Brussels..."

He's wrong there. The blame for that lies four-square at the door of every single member of the political class... *spits*
